Overview

Problem Napkin AI is a powerful data visualization platform, but using it felt more complicated than it should. Key actions like checking credits, sharing with others, or adjusting canvas settings were hidden away. New users didn’t know where to start, and the support panel stole attention instead of offering quiet help. The product was strong, but the experience didn’t yet live up to its promise. What I Changed - Credits at a glance: A clean header gauge showing balance, with notifications and auto-refill. - Simpler canvas settings: Clear categories with plain-language controls. - Friendlier support: Support redesigned to a search-first assistant with quick actions. - Streamlined account menus: Easier access to profile, community, and settings. - Stronger sharing controls: Privacy toggles, per-user roles, clear owner labels. - Sidebar navigation: Faster access to recents and favorites. - AI prompt bar at the bottom: A persistent space where users can generate visuals instantly with natural language. What I Learned Redesigning Napkin taught me that clarity is the ultimate feature. When users instantly see what they can do and where they stand, the product feels smarter without adding complexity.
